If ∫ ( x - 1 ) 2 x 2 + 1 2 d x = tan - 1 x + g x + k , then g ( x ) is equal to

If (x-1)2x2+12dx=tan-1x+gx+k, then g(x) is equal to
  1. tan1x2
  2. 1x2+1
  3. 12x2+1
  4. 2x2+1

Solution

Given that

x-12x2+12dx

= x2+1-2xx2+12dx

= x2+1x2+12dx - 2xx2+12dx

= 1x2+1dx - 2x x2+1-2dx

We know that f'xfxn dx = fxn+1n+1+c

= tan-1x +x2+1-1+c

So gx = 1x2+1.
