If the co-efficient of x9 in αx3+1βx11and the co-efficient of x-9 in αx-1βx311 are equal, then (αβ)2 is equal to

Given,

The coefficient of x9 in αx3+1βx11and the coefficient of x-9 in αx-1βx311 are equal,

Now the rth term of αx3+1βx11 is given by =Cr11·α11-rβr×x311-r-r

So, for x933-4r=9r=6

Hence, coefficient of x9 in αx3+1βx11=C611·α5β6

Similarly, for coefficient of x-9 in αx-1βx311=-C511·α6β5

Now given both coefficient are equal,

So, 11C6·α5β6=-11C5·α6β5

1β=-α

αβ=-1

(αβ)2=1
