If l ,   m l < m are roots of a x 2 + b x + c = 0 , then lim x → a a x 2 + b x + c a x 2 + b…

If l, ml<m are roots of ax2+bx+c=0, then limxaax2+bx+cax2+bx+c=
  1. aa,aR
  2. -aa, when αl,m
  3. -aa, when αl,m
  4. aa,αl,m

Solution

Given,

l, ml<m are roots of ax2+bx+c=0,

Also we know that value of function between the roots is negative or positive depending upon the value of a,

So, when xl,m then fx=ax2+bx+c<0, if a>0 and fx=ax2+bx+c>0, if a<0

So now using the above concept we will solve the given limit,

limxαax2+bx+cax2+bx+c=-aa, when αl,m
