If a chemical reaction is known to be non-spontaneous at 298 K but spontaneous at 350 K, then which among the following conditions is true for the reaction?
  1. ΔG=ve,ΔH=ve,ΔS=+ve
  2. ΔG=+ve,ΔH=+ve,ΔS=+ve
  3. ΔG=ve,ΔH=+ve,ΔS=+ve
  4. ΔG=+ve,ΔH=+ve,ΔS=ve

Solution

So according to the question we have to find the non spontaneous process then

We know the second law of thermodynamics

G = H -TS

So we know that for spontaneous

G<0

So for that we have the condition which is

ΔG=ve,ΔH=+ve,ΔS=+ve
