If a ¯ ,   b ¯ ,   c ¯ are non-zero non-collinear vectors and a ¯ × b…

If a¯, b¯, c¯ are non-zero non-collinear vectors and a¯×b¯=b¯×c¯=c¯×a¯, then a¯+b¯+c¯=
  1. 3a¯
  2. 0¯
  3. 3(a¯×b¯)
  4. 3(b¯×c¯)

Solution

Consider a+b+c=k.

Taking cross product of the above equation witha,

a×a+b+c=a×k

a×a+a×b+a×c=a×k

a×b-c×a=a×k

a×b-a×b=a×k

0=a×k

0=k

Therefore, a+b+c=0.
