If 0.2 moles of sulphuric acid is poured in to 250ml of water, calculate the concentration of the solution?

Solution

We know that concentration is dependent on the number of moles of solute and the volume of solution in L and it is given by:

Molarity=number of moles of solutevolume of solution in L

Here, n=0.2V=250 ml

Therefore,

Molarity=0.21×4=0.8 M

Hence, concentration of 250 ml of water containing 0.2 moles of sulphuric acid will be 0.8 M
