- 'High-density polythene', is the example of Linear polymers.
- According to the structure of the polymer, it is classified into three types.
- Linear polymers:
- The linear polymer consists of a straight \& long-chain structure.
- Examples- Polyvinyl chloride(PVC), High-density polythene, etc.
- Branched-chain polymers:
- Polymers having some branches in a linear structure.
- Examples -Polythene of Low-density.
- Cross-linked or network polymers:
- To form a 3-dimensional network polymer, the monomer units are cross-linked together in this structure.
Examples-melamine, Bakelite, etc.
