(i) Two magnetic field lines do not intersect each other. Why ? (ii) How is a uniform magnetic field in a given region represented ? Draw a diagram in support of your answer.

Solution

(i) If they intersect then at the point of intersection, there would be two directions of magnetic field or compass needle would point towards two directions, which is not possible. (ii) Uniform magnetic field is represented by equidistant parallel straight lines
