For a set of observations, if the coefficient of variation is 25 and mean is 44 , then the variance is
- $11$
- $121$
- $110$
- $19$
Solution
Since, we know
$\text { Co-efficient of variation }=\frac{\sigma}{|\bar{x}|} \times 100$
$\Rightarrow 25=\frac{\sigma}{44} \times 100 \Rightarrow \sigma=\frac{25 \times 44}{100} \Rightarrow \sigma=11$
Now, variance $=\sigma^2=11^2=121$
