For a A+B products the rate of the reaction is given by Rate =K[A][B]2. The units of rate constant (K) will be
  1. molL-1S-1
  2.  L mol-1 S-1
  3. mol2L-2S-1
  4. mol-2L2S-1

Solution

Rate of reaction ==K[A][B]2

The unit for the rate of reaction is mol L-1S-1 and the unit of concentration is mol L-1.

So,

Rate of reaction= K[A][B]2mol L-1S-1=K×mol L-1×mol L-12K=mol L-1S-1mol L-1×mol2 L-2=mol-2L2S-1

Hence, the unit of rate constant K is mol-2L2S-1.
