Following solutions were prepared by mixing different volumes of NaOH and HCl of different concentrations

1. 60 mL of M10 HCl+40 mL of M10 NaOH

2. 55 mL of M10 HCl+45 mL of M10 NaOH

3. 75 mL of M5  HCl+25 mL of MNaOH

4. 100 mL of M10  HCl+100 mL of M10 NaOH

pH of which one of them will be equal to 1?
  1. 4
  2. 1
  3. 2
  4. 3

Solution

Meq of HCl =75×15×1=15
Meq of NaOH =25×15×1=5
Meq of HCl in resulting solution = 10
Normality of [H+] in resulting mixture =10100=110
pH=-log[H+]=-log110=1.0
