Figure shows a straight wire placed between the pole pieces of a magnet. Induced emf will be developed across the ends of the wire when it is moved towards.

Solution

The magnetic force on positive charge F = qv * B
Therefore, as shown in figure +ve charge will be accumulated at end A and - ve charge will be accumulated at end C. Hence, an emf will be developed when rod will move along P.
