During the life-cycle, Fasciola hepatica (liver fluke) infects its intermediate host and primary host at the following larval stage respectively :
redia and miracidium
cercaria and redia
metacercaria and cercaria
miracidium and metacercaria
Solution
Fasciola hepatica is called as digenetic because its life cycle is completed in two hosts (sheep and invertebrate host). It is endoparasite because it lives inside the bile passage of sheep. (Ref. to Fig. 29.1)
Related Theory
The infective stage of liverfluke is metacercariae (larval stage).
