Compoun ' B ' is

Nitrous acid gives nitrosonium ion as electrophile (${\mathrm{NO}}^{+}$) which attacks phenol at less hindered p-position of form p-nitrosophenol.  The nitroso group undergo reduction and forms amine in the presence of ${\mathrm{NH}}_4\mathrm{SH}$.
