Solution
(a) Carnallite is a double salt. It will dissociate into simple substances or ions completely when dissolved in water to give 5 ions i.e. $\mathrm{K}^{+}, \mathrm{Mg}^{2+}$ and $3 \mathrm{Cl}^{-}$.
$\mathrm{KCl} \cdot \mathrm{MgCl}_2 \cdot 6 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O} \longrightarrow \mathrm{K}^{+}+\mathrm{Mg}^{2+}+3 \mathrm{Cl}^{-}+6 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{O}$
