Calculate the volume of gas at 1.25 atmosphere, if volume occupied by gas at 1 atmosphere and at same temperature is 25 mL .
- 15 mL
- 20 mL
- 25 mL
- 35 mL
Solution
According to Boyle's law,
$P_1 V_1=P_2 V_2$
(at constant n and T)
$\therefore \quad \mathrm{V}_2=\frac{\mathrm{P}_1 \mathrm{~V}_1}{\mathrm{P}_2}=\frac{1 \mathrm{~atm} \times 25 \mathrm{~mL}}{1.25 \mathrm{~atm}}=20 \mathrm{~mL}$
