Buna-S is obtained from
  1. Styrene and 2-chloro-1,3-butadiene
  2. Adipic acid and hexamethylene diamine

Buna $\mathbf{S}$ is copolymer of 1,3 butadiene and styrene. It is obtained by the polymerisation of butadiene and styrene in the ratio of 3: 1 in the presence of sodium.
