The sequence of event during meiosis are:
(A) Synapsis (Zygotene)- The homologous chromosomes start pairing with the help of the synaptonemal complex.
(B) Crossing over (Pachytene)- The non-sister chromatids of homologous chromosomes exchanges their parts. Enzyme recombinase takes part in this process.
(C) Terminalisation of chiasmata (Diakinesis)- The chiasmata moves towards the end of the chromosome (Telomere).
(D) The disappearance of nucleolus- The degeneration of nucleolus and nuclear membrane takes place which marks the end of prophase-I.
