Aqueous solution of which of the following compounds is the best conductor of electric current?
  1. Acetic acid, $\mathrm{C}_{2} \mathrm{H}_{4} \mathrm{O}_{2}$
  2. Hydrochloric acid, HCl
  3. Ammonia, $\mathrm{NH}_{3}$
  4. Fructose, $\mathrm{C}_{6} \mathrm{H}_{12} \mathrm{O}_{6}$

Solution

$\mathrm{HCl}$ completely dissociates to give $\mathrm{H}^{+}$ and $\mathrm{Cl}^{-}$ ions, hence act as very good electrolyte. While others are non- electrolytes. ^
