An object is placed on the principal axis of a concave mirror at a distance of 1.5f (f is the focal length). The image will be at,
  1. -3 f
  2. 1.5 f
  3. -1.5 f
  4. 3 f

Solution

Given, u=-1.5f,  now use the mirror formula for the concave mirror, in terms of distance between object and pole, the distance between image and pole and focal length,

1u+1v=1f1-1.5f+1v=1-f

1v=-1f+11.5f1v=-1.5+11.5f=-0.51.5f

v=-3f
