An integer is chosen at random from the integers 1 , 2,3, ....., 50. The probability that the chosen integer is a multiple of atleast one of 4,6 and 7 is
  1. 825
  2. 2150
  3. 950
  4. 1425

Solution

Let A=1,2,3,4,5,.........,50

Now, the probability of choosing a number which is a multiple of 4 will be P4=1250

Similarly, the probability of choosing a number which is a multiple of 6 will be P6=850

And the probability of choosing a number which is a multiple of 7 will be P7=750

Also, the probability of choosing a number which is a multiple of 4 & 6 will be P46=450

And the probability of choosing a number which is a multiple of 6 & 7 will be P67=150

And the probability of choosing a number which is a multiple of 4 & 7 will be P47=150

And finally, the probability of choosing a number which is a multiple of 4, 6 & 7 will be P467=0

Hence, P467=1250+850+750-450-150-150+0

P467=2150
