Allyl phenyl ether can be prepared by heating :
- CH2 = CH - Br + C6H5 - CH2 - ONa
- C6H5 - CH = CH - Br + CH3 - ONa
- CH2 = CH - CH2 - Br + C6H5ONa
- C6H5Br + CH2 = CH - CH2 - ONa
Solution
It is a Williamson's ether synthesis reaction. It is a reaction. Aryl halides will not undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions readily. Hence, allyl-phenyl ether can be prepared by reaction of allyl halide and phenoxide ion as follows
