As we know that, the refractive index $\mu$ of diamond is highest. And since, $\mu=\frac{1}{\sin \theta_c}$ where, $\theta_C$ is critical angle and least. So, chances of total internal reflection will be highest inside diamond. Hence, diamond appears bright.
