A square-shaped wire with a resistance of each side 3 Ω is bent to form a complete circle. The resistance between two diametrically opposite points of the circle in a unit of Ω will is,  _____.

Solution

We know that in a parallel combination of resistors the net resistance, 1RP=1R1+1R2+1R3+.... and when they are connected in series then net resistance is, R=R1+R2+R3+......+Rn.  A square-shaped wire with a resistance of each side is, 3 Ω, then the circuit is, 
then the net resistance is 3 Ω.
