A p-n junction diode cannot be used
  1. as a rectifier.
  2. for converting light energy to electrical energy.
  3. for getting light radiation.
  4. for increasing the amplitude of an a.c. signal.

Solution

A p-n junction diode cannot be used for increasing the amplitude of an AC signal. A p-n junction can be used as a rectifier because of its asymmetric current/voltage oroperties that enable current to flow in only one way and it converts light energy to electric energy as well as getting light radiation.
