Solution

Total elapsed by home clock = 16:00 - 14:30 = 90 minutes, minus 25 minutes stay = 65 minutes of travel. If onward time is 100 units, the return route is 1.25 times at twice the speed so return time = 125/2 = 62.5 units. Total 162.5 units = 65 minutes, so 100 units = 40 minutes. The man took 40 minutes to reach the village, so actual arrival time = 14:30 + 40 = 15:10. The village clock showed 15:15, so it is 5 minutes fast.
