A galvanometer G of 2Ω resistance is connected in the given circuit. The ratio of charge stored in C1 and C2 is:

  1. 23
  2. 32
  3. 1
  4. 12

Solution

In steady state:

 Req=12 Ω

Current through the branches with resistance, I=612=0.5 A

Now, potential drop across C1=3 V

and potential drop C2=4 V

Charge on the first capacitor, q1=C1 V1=12 μC

Charge on the second capacitor, q2=C2 V2=24 μC

Therefore, q1q2=12
