A Carnot engine has the same efficiency between 800 K and 500 K . and $x\gt600 \mathrm{~K}$ and 600 K . The value of ' $x$ ' is
- 1000 K
- 960 K
- 846 K
- 754 K
Solution
$\eta_1=1-\frac{T_2}{T_1}=1-\frac{500}{800}=\frac{3}{8} \Rightarrow \eta_2=1-\frac{600}{x}$
$\therefore \quad \eta_1=\eta_2$
$\Rightarrow 1-\frac{600}{x}=\frac{3}{8} \Rightarrow \frac{600}{x}=\frac{5}{8}$
$\therefore x=960 K$
