A body of mass 8 kg, under the action of a force, is displaced according to the equation s=t24 m, where 't' is the time. Find the work done by the force in the first 4 seconds.

Given the displacement equation, s=t24

Velocity of the body, v=dsdt=t2

Acceleration of the body, a=dvdt=12

Force on the body, F=ma=8 kg×12m s-2=4 N

Work done by the force in first 4 seconds, 

W=Force× displacementW=4×t24=t2Wt=0t=4=16 J
