A 2V battery is connected across AB as shown in the figure. The value of the current supplied by the battery when in first case battery's positive terminal is connected to A and in second case when positive terminal of battery is connected to B will respectively be:
  1. 0.2 A and 0.1 A
  2. 0.1 A and 0.2 A
  3. 0.2 A and 0.4 A
  4. 0.4 A and 0.2 A

Solution

When +ve polarity is connected to A

Then D1 is forward biased and D2 is reversed biased i.e.



I1 current through D1=25=0.4 A

When +ve polarity is connected to B then D2 is forward biased and D1 is reversed biased then



I2=210=0.2  A
