50th  root of a number x is 12 and 50th  root of another number y is 18  . Then the remainder obtained on dividing (x+y) by 25 is ________.

Solution

Given:

x150=12x=1250

y150=18y=1850

So,

x+y=1250+1850

x+y25=125025+185025

x+y25=1231612225+1822525

x+y25=17281612225+325-12525

x+y25=1725+31612225+325-12525

So, remainder is

31612225-1=335×3×14425-1

=25+25×3×14425-1

=25+25×3×150-625-1

=25×3×-625-1

=25+7×3×-625-1

=21×-625-1

=25-4×-625-1

=-4×-625-1

=24-1=23

Hence, the remainder is 23
